Apple Picking

By Abigail Sturley

This colored pencil drawing of my friend and I apple picking in Rhinebeck, NY is framed by vines of apple tree branches. In the drawing, my arm reaches up and into the frame, merging the two spheres of realism and fantasy. I tried to capture a fairytale storybook quality in the drawing, since apple-picking is a memory that I associate with childhood.
